Many say Seguin will be the next booming town. Located at the intersection of Interstate 10 and the recently constructed SH 130, which is a straight shot to Austin, TX.

One of the oldest towns in Texas, the community of Seguin was founded in 1838, but was not incorporated until 1853. It was originally called Walnut Springs for the nearby fresh water sources. The town was soon renamed in honor of Colonel Juan N. Seguin, a Tejano who fought beside the Anglo settlers against the Mexican dictator Santa Anna.

Seguin is home to Texas Lutheran University, a private college with education centered on the liberal arts and professional programs. Downtown Seguin offers many stores and restaurants, occasional festivals, and unique architecture including hand pressed brick buildings from the 1840’s. While Seguin is conveniently located near many employers and larger cities, it continues to have a quiet small-town feel.

Seguin, TX is currently growing at a rate of 1.43% each year. Seguin’s population has increased by 2.81% since the most recent census in 2020, which recorded the population at 29,458.
