Marion
Truly a one stoplight town, Marion has that small town charm. Before it was a town, Marion was just a camp for railroad workers. In 1877 Marion was founded by Thomas W. Pierce in honor of his daughter, Miss Marion Pierce. Once Marion officially became a town many German settlers began moving in. After years of growing, the town was incorporated in 1941 with just 373 residents and 20 businesses.
Marion is a very small and slow growing town, with only 1,034 residents recorded in the 2020 U.S. census.
